Avetis Social-Cultural Center opened in Sevkar community of Tavush


A music school used to operate on the site of the Avetis Social and Educational Center. Over time, the building fell into disrepair and was in poor condition due to lack of renovation. In 2004, it was transferred to the Armenian Apostolic Church through the efforts of the late Archbishop Sepuh Chuljyan. Since May 2025, the Vicar of the Tavush Diocese, Archbishop Samvel Mkhitaryan, has been seeking the help of benefactors to thoroughly renovate the center.

The opening ceremony of the Armenian-Ukrainian International School took place in Odessa


The official opening ceremony of the Armenian-Ukrainian International School was held under the chairmanship of Bishop Markos Hovhannisyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Ukraine. The construction of the church-owned school began in 2021 and was built with the funds of the Grigor Lusavorich Charitable Foundation. Education is bilingual, with the main subjects being Ukrainian. The school is designed for 100 students.

The consecration ceremony began with the opening of the doors, then the Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, anointed the church's holy table, baptismal font, columns, and the iron cross placed on the top of the church with holy myron. After the consecration, Father Hovhannes Torgomyan celebrated the Holy Liturgy under the presiding authority of the diocesan Primate.

Twenty students and teachers from the Alex and Marie Manoogian School, which has been operating in Detroit, Michigan since 1969, accompanied by AGBU Armenia President Vazgen Yacoubian, met with the Patriarch of All Armenians. The church was started to be built in 2011 through the efforts of philanthropist Hakob Sargsyan. Currently, a bell tower is being built next to the church, with a rectory. At the opening of the church, the Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, urged the community residents to show daily love and care for the church, to keep it constantly filled with their presence, and to strengthen and strengthen others through deeds of faith.

The Church of the Holy Mother of God in the village of Nerkin Bazmaberd has been consecrated


The church was started to be built in 1991, thanks to the efforts of Henzel Yeghiazaryan, a resident of Nerkin Bazmaberd, who left for the front two years later. Due to financial difficulties, the construction of the church was stopped. In 2020, after the death of Henzel Yeghiazaryan, his children tried to continue the work started by their father, but due to the war, the construction was stopped again. In 2024, the Istanbul-Armenian philanthropist Yeprem Bagh took over the construction of the church and completed it.

The Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, anointed the holy altar, baptismal font, columns and cross of the church with holy light. The Holy Mother of God opened its doors to the residents of Haghartsin, Teghut, Hovk and neighboring communities. The church was built in 1848, but in 1902 the wooden roof collapsed. Khrimyan Hayrik allocated money to rebuild the church, but the money was spent on the needs of the poor. More than a century later, the church was rebuilt with the efforts of the residents of Haghartsin.
