On August 12 the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Feast of Assumption of Holy Mother of God


On August 12, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Feast of Assumption of Holy Mother of God. This feast singles out from all other seven feasts dedicated to the Holy Mother of God.  The celebrant of the Divine Liturgy Bishop Arshak Khachatryan spoke about the sacrament and significance of the Feast. After the Divine Liturgy of the Feast  A Grape Blessing ceremony was held in the Altar of Holy Etchmiadzin followed by the distribution of blessed grapes to the people. 
 

11th Scout Camp hosted Catholicos of All Armenians


The closing ceremony of the 11th Scout Camp held on July 19 hosted Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. He spoke about the cultural and spiritual values linking Armenians throughout centuries, which helped us overcome all trials of time. He also stated, that a year ago they had made a decision to proclaim the year 2018 as the year of Youth and exhort the Diocese leaders to encourage the youth visiting Armenia. 
 

Program targeting Syrian Armenians continue


The inflow of immigrants fleeing from Syrian war posed new tasks for the Armenian Round Table of the World Council. The Foundation implements not only charity and humanitarian assistance, but also development projects. 
 

The meeting of pilgrims from Shirak, Gegharkunik and Gugark Dioceses with Catholicos of All Armenians


On June 30, the members of various Armenian Church Dioceses were arriving in the Mother See with their spiritual leaders to receive the patriarchal blessing of Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians. The Patriarch first received the pilgrims of Gugark, Gegharkunik and Shirak Dioceses.

New exhibition halls and restoration laboratories to open after the renovation of the Mother See Treasury House


In 2019, Alex and Marie Manoogian Treasury House Museum will feature new building facilities matching modern standards, two new exhibition halls, archives and restoration center.
 

The seminarians depart for spiritual servicing over the summer


This summer the students of Gevorkian Theological Seminary will again spend their summer vacations in  Armenian and Diaspora Dioceses. This opportunity is provided to most outstanding seminarians. This year they are nearly forty. 
 

Postgraduate education launched in the Seminary


For the first time in the history of Gevorkian Seminary, a postgraduate auditorium is made available. On July 2, during the examination-interview, the members of the Commission auditioned 7 candidates.  
 

Pilgrimage of seminarians to the borderland Tavush


Every summer, the end of educational year, the students and the teachers of Gevorkian Theological Seminary travel to different sacred places of Armenia. This year, the seminarians had picked borderland Tavush Marz.
 

Catholicos of All Armenians blessed the pilgrims of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church in the USA


Nearly three dozens of pilgrims from the Eastern Diocese of the USA visited Holy Etchmiadzin and received the blessing of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. The group of pilgrims arrived from New York, under the leadership of Father Abraham Malkhasyan, the pastor of Holy Martyrs Church. The majority of the pilgrims were in their homeland for the first time. 
 

12 newly consecrated priests assigned to different service posts


On June 10, 12 Deacons were consecrated and anointed as priests in the Mother Cathedral St. Grigor Lusavorich in Yerevan. After 40-day fasting the priests are now ready for service.  
Today, under the presidency of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the priests were assigned to different service posts. 
 

 

“Tzuk-Mzuk” for the children of Kharberd Orphanage


On July 3, by the initiative of the Social Service Department of the Mother See, 40 children from Kharberd Specialised Orphanage came to watch the performance “Tzuk-Mzuk”.
